Ben Folds!

ben folds is amazing. i just got home from his show at the warfield. and it was incredible. i had really high expectations, because it was ben. and he surpassed my expectations. if you haven't been to the warfield, you should go, because the sound there is just amazing. and ben was so good. he plays and sings so well, obviously, and is so incredibly talented, but he was also really good at getting the crowd involved. everyone was really into it, and he had the crowd do harmonies in the backgound for his songs. it ended up sounding really good...and i mean it was ben. and also he told stories about couple of songs, army, one angry dwarf and 200 solemn faces, and stevens last night in town, and they were good stories, haha. he played a good assortment of songs, there are really no songs i really wanted him to play that he didn't play. he didn't play brick, but its really okay, he probably gets tired of playing it because its the most popular in the mainstream and everything. i was so happy that he played philosophy. i didn't think he would, and its currently my favorite ben folds song. he also played narcolepsy and the luckiest which i like a lot right now as well. he played silver streets too which was really good, and i think its interesting how he started writing it in college and finished it not so long ago. the other songs i remember him playing are:

-Zak and Sara

-Alice Childress

-Not the Same

-Emaline

-Where's summer b?

-Mess

-Lullaby

-rockin the suburbs

-Kate

-Song for the Dumped (which was interesting cause the girl who did the dumping is from san francisco and she was there and he used it-i think it was actually summer b, from his other song)

-Evaporated

i think that is all of them. it was so great though. anyone who holds the opinion that live performances are disappointing would be wonderfully surprised by ben's spectacular performance. i actually cried. a few times...all i can say is ben was amazng...i highly reccomend seeing him. i know i will be doing it again the first chance i get.

ps-myles and emilie are great people for road trips and great for seeing concerts with. and myles is great cause he bought us denny's. and i'm glad we all went the concert was obviously a wonderful experience...and the trip there and back was interesting too.
